Claude 101 is an official Anthropic course hosted on Skilljar. As checked on September 20, 2026, registration is listed as free and the curriculum ends with a certificate of completion. That label is not the same as an independent professional certification.

What the official course covers

The current curriculum starts with Claude and a first conversation, then moves through better results, the desktop experience, Projects, Artifacts, Skills, connected tools, enterprise search, Research and role-based use cases. It is a product-orientation course for people who want to understand the Claude app, not a developer program for the API.

Need Fit
First guided tour of Claude Strong fit
Projects, Artifacts and connected tools overview Covered in the listed curriculum
Claude API implementation Choose Claude Platform 101 instead
Deep Claude Code workflow Choose Claude Code 101 or a technical course
Independent job credential The page promises a completion certificate, not employer recognition

The distinction between a tour and an applied course matters. Claude 101 lists the surfaces you may use, including Projects, Artifacts, Skills, connectors and Research. The public curriculum does not promise that every learner will complete a workplace artifact reviewed by their own organization. Do not treat a completion certificate as evidence that a specific report, automation or company workflow was checked.

Who should take it

Take Claude 101 if you are new to Claude, need a structured product tour or support colleagues who must share the same vocabulary. If you already use Projects, Research and Skills every week, scan the current curriculum before enrolling; a specialized course may fit better.

Choose a route in five minutes

Your starting point Best next step
Never used Claude Take Claude 101 and try the first-conversation lesson with fictional input
Know chat but not Projects or Artifacts Use the relevant Claude 101 modules, then create a small practice Project or Artifact
Need to build through the API Use Anthropic’s separate Claude Platform 101 path
Need a coding-agent workflow Use Anthropic’s separate Claude Code 101 or a tested repository exercise
Need a workplace approval process Add a task-specific intake, source check and reviewer after the product tour

This is a curriculum-fit judgment based on Anthropic’s published course descriptions, not a measured comparison of teaching quality.

Add practice the course page cannot prove for you

Course completion shows that you finished the provider’s path. Add one work sample that another person can inspect:

  1. choose a fictional or approved source packet;
  2. write the expected facts before using Claude;
  3. save the first result and identify one failure;
  4. revise the instruction and rerun the task;
  5. attach the final result, source check and reviewer note.

Example: turn meeting notes into Decisions, Actions and Open questions. Fail the result if an unapproved suggestion becomes a decision or a missing date is invented. The artifact demonstrates applied review, which a completion screen alone cannot show.

Use this fictional source: “The team approved Option B. Maya will send the QA report Friday. A customer email was suggested, not approved. The next meeting date is unset.” Before asking Claude, write the four expected facts. After the first draft, mark any promoted suggestion or invented date, revise the instruction and rerun the unchanged notes. Save the corrected recap with a short reviewer note. Now the course has led to a piece of work another person can inspect.

The exercise is ours, not an assignment Anthropic claims to grade. If you put the course on a resume, use the exact issuer and completion label, and describe your separate work sample separately.

Access and naming checks

Open the course through Anthropic’s current course catalog, confirm the price and certificate wording, and keep the issuer visible on any profile or resume. Do not rename it “WexAI Claude 101.” WexAI’s Claude course is a separate practice course with its own curriculum.
