5 steps to a reviewable draft

  1. 01

    Define the decision

    State which audience choice the research should inform, such as a campaign, page, offer or message. A broad request produces broad noise.

    Result: One decision statement and the audience context it concerns.

  2. 02

    Sort the source material

    Group notes by source type and date. Remove duplicate copies, label sensitive material and keep direct quotes distinct from summaries.

    Result: A clean source pack with traceable origin.

  3. 03

    Create the insight board

    Ask for recurring language, situations, desired changes and objections, with an evidence column beside every theme.

    Result: A board that links audience statements to an identifiable source.

    Your prompt

    Organize the supplied audience material into an insight board for this decision.

    Decision: {{decision}}
    Source material: {{sources}}
    Known audience context: {{context}}

    Return sections for observed language, situations, desired change, objections, evidence source, confidence, assumptions and unanswered questions. Quote or paraphrase only supplied material. Mark a deduction as [HYPOTHESIS]. Do not add demographics, motivations, budgets or market size that the sources do not establish.
    Example input

    Decide which reporting problem a workshop landing page should address. Sources include five support notes and two interviews with agency owners.

    Example output

    Observed language: “I rebuild the report every Friday.” Evidence: two interviews. Motivation: [HYPOTHESIS].

  4. 04

    Look for weak evidence

    Check whether a theme appears across more than one source and whether one loud customer has distorted the picture. Preserve disagreements.

    Result: A shorter set of findings with uncertainty shown plainly.

  5. 05

    Plan the next question

    Select the question that could change the marketing decision, then assign a method, owner and date for answering it.

    Result: A research action that connects directly to the decision.

What a finished draft should contain

An audience board that shows what customers said, where it came from, what the team suspects and what evidence would change the next choice.

What this process cannot decide

  • Small source sets can miss an important segment.
  • AI can group themes but cannot judge which customer problem the business should solve.
