Sora Prompt Archive and Migration Cards

Sora has been discontinued. Preserve old prompt decisions as portable shot cards and adapt them only after checking a current video tool.

Export record

You need to preserve the context around a downloaded Sora clip.

Record for {{file_name}}: created {{date_if_known}}; purpose {{purpose}}; prompt {{original_prompt}}; aspect ratio and duration {{settings}}; references {{references}}; edits {{edits}}; known issues {{issues}}. Mark missing fields [UNKNOWN].

See a worked example Illustrative

What you add

File: lamp-hero-03.mp4. Date: unknown. Purpose: homepage concept. Prompt: available in project notes. Settings: 16:9, duration unknown. Reference: owned lamp photo. Edits: none recorded. Issue: lamp switch changes shape.

Example result

A dated record with unknown fields preserved rather than guessed.

Before you use itStore the record beside the exported file and verify every known field against the original project.

Tool-neutral migration card

You want to reproduce the creative intention in a current video tool.

Convert this old project into one tool-neutral shot: {{project}}. Return purpose, starting frame, subject motion, scene motion, camera motion, required stability, rejection conditions and questions for the new tool. Do not translate retired control names into unsupported settings.

See a worked example Illustrative

What you add

Project: product lamp remains fixed while the camera pushes in and a curtain moves behind it.

Example result

A one-shot brief that can be mapped to current Veo or Runway controls after feature verification.

Before you use itTreat the migrated card as a new test; it cannot guarantee the same output.

Make it your own

Copy a prompt, replace the text in double braces with your details, then adjust the first draft.

Do not follow an old prompt pack as a current tutorial

OpenAI’s official notice says the Sora web and app experiences closed in April 2026. Keep old prompts only as project evidence. Extract the visible scene and motion decisions, then verify the controls in a current tool.

Are these prompts still executable in Sora?

No current Sora web or app workflow is promised here. The cards preserve intent and project history; check OpenAI’s official sunset notice for the latest export and API status.

Start from a flexible template

Use this archive to document an old Sora project, not to start a new generation in the retired web or app experience.

ORIGINAL SHOT PURPOSE: {{purpose}}. VISUAL SCENE: {{scene}}. SUBJECT MOTION: {{subject_motion}}. SCENE MOTION: {{scene_motion}}. CAMERA MOTION: {{camera_motion}}. ORIGINAL SETTINGS: {{settings}}. REFERENCES AND RIGHTS: {{references}}. KEEP STABLE: {{stability}}. MIGRATION NOTE: map these decisions to the current tool before generating.

Example input

Purpose: establish a calm workspace. Scene: orange lamp on a desk. Subject motion: none. Scene motion: curtain moves. Camera: slow push in. Settings: 16:9, short clip; original model unknown. References: owned product photo. Stable: lamp shape and color.

Example output

A portable shot card that records the creative choices without pretending Sora-specific controls still work.

A quick check

The official Sora status has been checked
Available projects and clips are exported
Rights for every reference are recorded
Product-specific controls are removed before migration
The new tool settings are documented separately.

Keep in mind

The Sora web and app experiences are discontinued
Old controls may have no equivalent
This archive does not generate or recreate a clip.
